Hinds County School District Hosts Career Academy Meeting with Business Leaders and Educators
Hinds County School District (HCSD) officials hosted the charter meeting of a Career Academy program. During this gathering at the Eagle Ridge Conference Center in Raymond, Mississippi, community business leaders, guest educators, and parents provided input and discussion on the roles they will play in ensuring that HCSD high school students become college- and career-ready graduates.
Principal architect and president of Ferguson & Associates Architecture, G. G. Ferguson, was among those guest business leaders participating in the Career Academy kick-off conference. “It is an honor and a privilege to be working with the District and Board. The Hinds County School District is truly forward thinking. Not all Districts attempt such progressive moves. They are thinking way past the students’ graduations—they are connecting these students to careers. We look forward to helping mold the curriculum for students interested in the artistic and technical careers. We feel honored to be included in the discussion.” Ferguson & Associates Architecture has managed numerous significant building projects for the district including the new Terry High School sports entry plaza and athletic field house, the new Terry Gymnasium complex, the new Terry Center for the Performing arts, the new Raymond Gymnasium Complex and the new Raymond High School Center for the Performing Arts.
